Beqa Lagoon is one of Fiji's top diving locations. To one edge of the lagoon, is the large Beqa Island, well-known for its firewalking and spectacular diving. Divers who wish to explore sites in this well-known destination can stay either on the island itself, or at Pacific Harbour.

Some of the resorts in this region have their own on-site dive shops, while others employ dedicated dive operators out of Pacific Harbour, including Beqa Adventure Divers and Aqua-Trek Beqa. Resorts on Beqa include Lawaki Beach House (budget), Kulu Bay (medium range), or premier stays can be had at Beqa Lagoon Resort, Lalati Resort & Spa and the exquisite 5-star Royal Davui on its own small island nearby. At Pacific Harbour is the Lagoon Resort (medium range) or the stylish Pearl South Pacific that is beachside. The new fun budget hangout is the Uprising Beach Resort just along the beach from the Pearl, or try Tsulu Backpackers at the Pacific Harbour centre. Waidroka Bay Surf and Dive Resort just out of Pacific Harbour offers dive tours to Beqa Lagoon also.

Getting to Pacific Harbour & Beqa Lagoon

If you are staying at Pacific Harbour, it is just a couple of hours by road from Nadi International Airport. Beqa is found offshore, south of Pacific Harbour. View a map of Fiji. The journey first takes you through sugar cane fields and gentle rolling hills before reaching the Coral Coast and it then a spectacular oceanside road all the way to your destination. A small airstrip at Pacific Harbour is being redeveloped, which could lead to direct local air flights from Nadi. If you are staying on Beqa Island itself, your resort will advise on transfers, either by boat from Pacific Harbour, or by helicopter or float plane from Nadi.
