Beqa Scuba Diving
The Beqa lagoon is a roughly circular, 40-mile reef that has formed from an extinct volcanic crater. To its western perimeter is the very large Beqa Island, but the lagoon also contains a number of smaller islands, such as Yanuca (also a good surfing destination).
This part of Fiji is easily accessed from the main international arrival airport at Nadi. Just an hour or so drive along a beautiful coastal highway and you are at Pacific Harbour on the southern coast. On the latter part of the ride you start to see the large island of Beqa offshore. On most days you will spot the brilliant turquoise hues outlining the Beqa Lagoon.
